Bees and Bugs @ Blanchard

bug reading a book on a raftBlanchard Public Library offers children an opportunity to learn about Beekeeping Tuesday, July 8, at 10:30 a.m. They will learn about the Queen, Drone, and Worker bees; the bee hive; bee products; and just how important the honey bee is.

Tuesday, July 15, at 10:30 a.m. the Science Museum Oklahoma presents Bug Grossology. Children will learn about the bugs we eat every day and sample some bug filled snacks. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Blanchard library.

The Children’s Summer Reading Program is part of a state-wide reading initiative developed by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and offered with the support of Sonic, Ind., America’s Drive In. Touring programs in the Pioneer Library System are made possible through the support of Hitachi Computer Products (America), Inc., Oklahoma Arts Council, the Anne & Henry Zarrow Foundatin, and Friends of the Library groups in each community.
