SOKC, Red Cross to provide “Disaster Preparedness 4 Kids” programs

The Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library, in partnership with the American Red Cross, is helping children feel a little safer as spring storm season nears with a pair of Disaster Prepareness 4 Kids programs at the library, 2201 SW 134th St.

The programs are set up by age: children in kindergarten through 2nd grade are invited at 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, and a program for third through sixth grade will be 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1.

Each program will teach children about the “Pillowcase Project,” a national plan in place from the Red Cross with the goal or teaching about safety and preparedness in a fun and interactive way for children.

Space is limited so registration is required for each program. Online registration is available for April 25th and May 1st.
