International Games Day festivities set at Norman West

Celebrate International Games Day with activities at Norman’s public libraries Saturday, Nov. 15. Norman Public Library Central will host activities starting at 11 a.m. while Norman Public Library West begins its events at 4 p.m.

International Games Day features old-school board games and other family favorites and is part of a much bigger event, with activities planned at libraries across not just the country but all seven continents, including Antarctica, according to the American Library Association.

Registration is not required to attend the event.

Interested in learning more about gaming? The library has many good resources to read up on the topic, including:
“Minecraft: The Unlikely Tale of Markus "Notch" Persson and the Game that Changed Everything” by Daniel Goldberg;

“Everything I Need to Know I Learned from Dungeons & Dragons: One Woman's Quest to Turn Self-Help into Elf-Help” by Shelly Mazzanoble

“Theory of Games and Economic Behavior” by John Von Neumann
