Bilingual, Spanish/English, families and their children ages 6 to 10 will have the opportunity to participate in a free reading, discussion and storytelling series based on illustrated children's books. Norman Public library will be the venue for this reoccurring family event every Tuesday from 6:30 until 8 p.m. beginning April 8 through May 13.
Prime Time is designed to encourage parents and children to read and discuss humanities topics and aids them in selecting books and becoming active library users. Each evening, storytellers and discussion leaders will present humanities themed stories to the families in both Spanish and English. Reading aloud within a family setting will be modeled followed by discussion of related topics. Separate activities are also available for pre-school children ages 3 - 5. Dinner for the program attendees will also be provided by community supporters.
