An animated storyteller and spirited player, Yeaman has worked with and performed for all ages in libraries and preschools across the Midwest and New England. She skillfully crafts each performance to match the age and learning styles of her audience. Whether she is telling Where the Wild Things Are or The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Yeaman uses the cello to add richness and to evoke images that inspire the imagination of each little listener.
“This is Erin’s fourth tour of the system and she has become one of our most popular and effective presenters,” says Jenny Stenis, Coordinator of Children’s Services for the Pioneer Library System. “Our audiences love her and her approach fits perfectly with the other arts-centered programming we offer in our libraries such as Musical Story Time and Melody Hounds.”
Families that participate in Tune and Tales Cello Story Time will receive a complimentary copy of Nursery Rhymes, Songs and Fingerplays compiled by the West Bloomfield Township Public Library in West Bloomfield, Michigan. The booklet contains nursery rhymes, songs, and fingerplays that help develop phonemic awareness in children through the use of rhymes.
“We will give a free copy of the book to the first 500 families that participate in a Tunes and Tales Cello Story Time,” says Stenis.
The Tunes and Tales tour begins on Thursday, October 2, with a performance at the Tecumseh Public Library at 11 a.m.
On Tuesday, October 7, Yeaman visits the Noble Public Library at 10 a.m.
