The March 2013 newsletter is full of information for events at the library. Create art from repurposed technology and possibly win $50, vote for the Sequoyah Book Award, attend a gaming night, or find a book & movie suggestion.
TEEN TECH WEEK: SIGN IN @ YOUR LIBRARY
Several PLS libraries are joining other Oklahoma libraries to celebrate Teen Tech Week, March 10-16, by offering special programs and events.
This year's theme is Sign In @ your library, encouraging teens to take advantage of the many technologies available, free of charge, at the library.
OLD SCHOOL ART CONTEST
Create an artpiece from repurposed technology like old CDs, records, board games, cassette tapes, typewriters, or electronics and you could win a $50 Best Buy gift card.
The submission deadline is Saturday, March 16, 2013. Application and details are available at www.justsoyouknow.us/artcontest. The winner will be chosen by an online vote March 25 -31.

SEQUOYAH BOOK AWARD
Vote today for your favorite book!
If you have read at least 3 titles from the Sequoyah book lists for Intermediate or High School levels, you can vote for your favorite book.
Fill out the Sequoyah voting ballot and choose your favorite book. Voting ends March 31st. Winners will be announced in April.

Mar. 5 @ 5 p.m. - People vs. Boardom: Journey together through a fantasy realm to discover treasure, fight monsters, and triumph over adversity in the dark night. A variety of d20 tables will be open. New and experienced players welcome. Food provided.
Mar. 5, 12, 19, & 26 @ 6:30 - 8 p.m. - Tuesday Tutors: University of Oklahoma students work one-on-one with students to provide assistance with any school subject or assignment. Tutors are open first-come, first-served. No registration required.
Mar. 12 @ 6 p.m. - Teen Tech Safety: Verizon Wireless and the library are teaming up to provide a class about wireless device safety. Register at the library, by calling 701-2620, or online.
Purcell Public Library
Mar. 12 @ 3:30 p.m. - Tech Art: Explore "old school" technology and combine it with other materials to make works of Art that can be entered in the system wide art contest.
Mondays and Fridays @ 3:30 p.m. - Table Top Gaming: Open to public and group members that want to learn, play and participate in tabletop gaming such as Magic and Dungeons & Dragons. This is group led. No registration required.
