The Blanchard Public Library is getting ready for Halloween with several age-appropriate story times for children during Halloween week.
The regular Monday morning story time for preschoolers ages 3-5 takes place at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28. Library Assistant Kay Lowry will share Halloween stories, rhymes, flannel boards, musical fun, and an occasional craft.
At 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, older children in first through fourth grade are invited to hear some “Scary Stories.” Pioneer Library System Children’s Librarian and noted storyteller Valerie Kimble will share spooky tales in a program that also features games, music, refreshments and other Halloween fun. Children can dress in costume if they want. Registration is required in advance.
The weekly Rhythmical Lapsit for babies and toddlers up to age 2 and their caregivers at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, shifts to a Halloween theme, with seasonal rhymes and music.
And at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, pre-K and kindergarten students can begin Halloween evening with a story time just for them, featuring, stories, games and music. Registration is recommended but not required for the program.
