Moore seeks children for Writing Competition, workshop
The Moore Public Library invites elementary school-age children to enter its Children’s Writing Competition.
The library is taking entries for the contest throughout April. Entries should be one page in length and may include artwork. The entry deadline is April 30, and judging will take place throughout May.
The contest winner will be announced after judging and will receive a new eReader.
And to get contestants a little help on their masterpiece, children are invited to a Children’s Writing Workshop, at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, in the Story Time Room of the library.
Children’s author Gwendolyn Hooks will lead the workshop, giving exercises and tips for young writers to help with the planning and actual writing of a story.
The contest and the workshop each are sponsored by the University of Oklahoma School of Library and Information Studies.
