The Moore Public Library invites authors and would-be authors to a Writing Workshop at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in the Story Time Room of the library, 225 S. Howard Ave.
Instructor Katie Shearer will focus specifically on tips and techniques for writing fiction and getting past common stumbling blocks for writers.
The workshop will be helpful for a beginning writer, or someone who has plenty of experience but is just looking for some new ideas.
The program is sponsored by the Oklahoma Humanities Council and the Pioneer Library System, and is part of the schedule of events for The Big Read, the library’s monthlong celebration of literature centered around the Tobias Wolff novel “Old School.”
Attendees will go “old school” by using pen and paper for some of the writing exercises in the class and are asked to bring something to write with and on.
The class is for ages 18 and up, and space is limited so registration is required to attend.
