Library part of Moore's Celebration in the Heartland July 4th

The Moore Public Library will be part of this year’s Celebration in the Heartland, beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 4, at Moore’s Buck Thomas Park, 1901 NE 12th St.

The day will feature a variety of activities for children, including face painting, finger printing by members of the Boy Scouts of America, bead bracelets, temporary tattoos and signups for the Summer Reading Program for those who still need to sign up.

The library will provide opportunities for parents as well. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Pioneer Library System Virtual Library will offer a “petting zoo” of a variety of eReaders to look over and try out. And Moore staff member Sherry Krukowski will provide information on growing herbs from 4 to 8 p.m.

The festival features many other activities put on by the City of Moore and other local organizations, and will wrap up with a fireworks show at dark.
