Read with Snuffie in Newcastle
Young readers are invited to read to the Newcastle Public Library’s four-legged friend Snuffie most Tuesday afternoons beginning at 2 p.m. at the library, 705 NW 10th St. Snuffie will be back at the library beginning May 21 and throughout much of the summer.
Parents or caregivers should call the library to schedule 15-minute sessions for their child age 4-10 to read to Snuffie in a non-threatening environment. The goal is to help them build their confidence in their reading.

The Newcastle Public Library’s Brown Bag Book Discussion group brings together good conversation and sharing of good books at its monthly meeting. The group next gets together at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the library, 705 NW 10th St.
The group will discuss “The Heretic’s Daughter” by Kathleen Kent. Copies of the book will be available at the library’s Information Desk in advance of the discussion.
