Newcastle, OSU Extension offer workshops on improving your landscape
The Newcastle Public Library is offering local residents tips on the best way to “Beautify Your Landscape,” in a pair of programs planned later this month at the library, 705 NW 10th St.
Wes Lee of the McClain County OSU Extension Office will lead the classes, set for 5:30 p.m. on consecutive Thursdays, Aug. 23 and 30.
Topics include:
Aug. 23 – Top Trees for Central Oklahoma – the class will focus on trees of a variety of sized that are best suited for the climate of the area that are naturally pest-free and easy to maintain.
Aug. 30 – To Shrubs to Beautify a Landscape – the class looks at woody perennials and shrubs that can be used in a variety of soils or environmental conditions, with a focus put on “Oklahoma proven varieties.”
The workshops are for ages 18 and older and registration is required separately for each.
