Join the discussion at the library this fall

The Newcastle Public Library is getting the community into reading with a variety of book clubs for all ages this fall.

The groups will meet at the library, 705 NW 10th St., with their first get-togethers coming in September.

Dates and topics for the first meetings are:

Brown Bag Book Discussion Group, 12:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12 – Ages 18 and up are invited to read and discuss “Change of Heart” by Jodi Picoult. Attendees are invited to bring a sack lunch and enjoy snacks provided by the Friends of the Newcastle Library.

Teen Book Club, 4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12 – Teens will take part in discussion and a related craft on the book “The Forest of Hands and Teeth” by Carrie Ryan. The group meets monthly throughout the school year for ages 13-18.

Tween Book Club, 4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12 – Ages 9 to 12 have the chance for their own monthly discussion and related craft project as well. They’ll be looking at the book “The Strange Case of Origami Yoda” by Tom Angleberger and enjoying snacks provided by the Friends of the Newcastle Library.

Forever Young Book Club, 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14 – This is the library newest book group, for ages 18 and up but who enjoy reading the young adult book genre. Their first selection is “The Diviners” by Libba Bray.
