The Norman Public Library hosts a screening of the documentary film “The Dogs of Lexington,” at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, in the Lowry Room of the library, 225 N. Webster Ave.
The film tells the story of the “Friends for Folks” dog-training prison program at the Joseph Harp Correctional Center in Lexington.
In addition to the screening of the documentary, the afternoon also will feature a presentation and question-and-answer session by local veterinarian Dr. John Otto.

The Pioneer Library System’s Cleveland County Literacy Services Department has delayed its upcoming tutor training due to the threat of poor weather.
The event for prospective volunteer tutors has been moved to 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 8 at the Norman Public Library, 225 N. Webster Ave., in Rooms A and B.
This is a combined training for volunteers who want to work either with learners of English as Second Language or to who English is their first language, specifically in Cleveland County. Registration may be completed through the Cleveland County Literacy Office at 701-2682 or online.

The Norman Public Library is offering the community a chance to get immersed in the Spanish language through a series of free classes at the library in February and March.
The Spanish Immersion Class series takes place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays from Feb. 11 through March 25.

The Norman Public Library is getting ready for the upcoming income tax season with several features to help out the community.
Each Pioneer Library System hometown library is equipped to help customers locate, download, and print federal or state tax forms.
Income tax forms for both federal and State of Oklahoma filings are available online, and PLS cardholders may access the public computers in any of the system’s branch libraries to print their own tax forms for a per page fee.
