The Purcell Public Library invites children to its weekly After School Craft Time at 3:15 p.m. Wednesdays in the Meeting Room of the library, 919 N. Ninth St.
The library will host special themes for the month of April during the craft programs.
The programs are part of the Pioneer Library System’s monthlong PLS Big Read, a celebration of literature that focuses on the novel “The Joy Luck Club.” The book looks at the relationships of Chinese-American mothers and daughters and the library will offer a number of programs in April about the book and Chinese culture in general.
The schedule includes:
April 4 – Chinese Brush Painting
April 11 – Calligraphy and Chinese character writing
April 18 – Chinese Paper Lanterns
April 25 – Chinese Dragon Making
Participants may get a little messy making their projects so parents are encouraged to dress their children appropriately.
The library hosts an After School Craft Time for children most Wednesdays. Registration is not required to take part.
