Purcell to join Global Cardboard Challenge

The “Global Cardboard Challenge” is coming to the Purcell Public Library.

The annual initiative was inspired by the film “Caine’s Arcade” and celebrates the power of creative play through building an imaginative craft out of cardboard and recycled materials.

Children will work on their projects during the library’s afterschool “Makers Space” programs at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1 and 8. Then they’ll show off their efforts at the library’s “Day of Play” at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, the day set aside for an international commemoration of the Global Cardboard Challenge.
