What do you geek?
That’s the question staff members at the Southwest Oklahoma City Library are asking their customers as part of the national Geek The Library community awareness campaign.
Geek The Library features local educational material that introduces “geek” as a verb and encourages the public to talk about what they geek, whether it’s engineering, superheroes, music, zombies, or cooking. The campaign illustrates the fact that everyone is passionate about something—everyone 'geeks' something—and that the library supports them all. Library staffers have been teaming up with local businesses to offer folks opportunities to share their 'geeks' with the world, and so far have collected lots of interesting and fun responses.
This week's featured participant geeks zumba. She can explore and indulge this passion at the library with titles and services like the ones below.
Zumba takes place at the SOKC library on Mondays at 7 p.m., so come join us, have fun, and get a great workout!
