SOKC, Red Cross to provide “Disaster Preparedness 4 Kids” programs

The Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library, in partnership with the American Red Cross, is helping children feel a little safer as spring storm season nears with a pair of Disaster Prepareness 4 Kids programs at the library, 2201 SW 134th St.

The programs are set up by age: children in kindergarten through 2nd grade are invited at 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, and a program for third through sixth grade will be 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1.

SOKC tweens discuss “Inkheart”

The Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library’s BAM (Books and Movie) group for tweens gets together for its next monthly meeting at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at the library, 2201 SW 134th St.

This month, participants will compare the book “Inkheart” with the movie version of the book. The program will feature discussion, activities and theme-related crafts about the book and movie, which is rated PG. The program is for tweens in third through sixth grade.
