The Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library brings the classic board game Clue to life at an afterschool edition of its Tween Scene group, at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, in Rooms A and B of the library.

Children in third through sixth grade are invited to take part in a life-sized version of the board game. They’ll need to come by the Children’s Services desk sometime before the program to sign up and be assigned a character to play.

SOKC transforms for life-sized Candy Land game


It’s game time at the Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library, with an evening featuring a life-sized Candy Land game, starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24.

Preschool and elementary-age children are invited to be part of the game. Costumes are welcome and encouraged to add to the game.

Business Connections group to meet at SOKC

book jacket for The Power of HabitThe Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library is talking business at its Business Connections Book Discussion, a group that meets monthly to discuss a book title read by the entire group.

The next meeting of the group is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, in the Conference Room of the library, 2201 SW 134th St. The group will discuss the book The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg.

SOKC presents Lego Board Game programs

The Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library takes Legos and games and puts them together in its Lego Board Game programs, taking place at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, and continuing at the same time Tuesday, Oct. 21.

Participants will use Lego kits in challenges to see who can build a variety of Lego items the fastest as part of a contest.

The program is geared to grades six through 12. Space is limited so registration is required in advance to attend.

Get moving with weekly SOKC classes

The Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library pairs reading and fitness with several weekly classes offered at the library, 2201 SW 134th St.

The library hosts a Pilates class at 6 p.m. Mondays, followed by an hour of Zumba at 7 p.m. And it’s also hosting a class on Beginning Yoga at 10 a.m. on Sept. 3. All classes are offered free of charge

SOKC offers stories and more several times a week

The Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library invites its youngest readers to Story Time, geared just to them, at several different offerings weekly.

Children up to age 3 are invited to the weekly Baby Story Times, held at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. every Thursday at the library, 2201 SW 134th St.

For children older than that, Children’s Story Time is set at 10 a.m. on Mondays, with books, games, music and more.
