The University of Oklahoma Writing Center is partnering with the Pioneer Library System for a pair of writing workshops in PLS branch libraries targeting high school students and their parents on tips for the college application process.
The workshops, on College Admission and Scholarship Essays, are set for 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at the Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library, 2201 SW 134th St., and again at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at the Norman Public Library, 225 N. Webster Ave.
The workshop will give high school students and their parents insight into how scholarship and admissions committees read essays and how applicants can craft essays to effectively gain the attention of these readers.
Moira Ozias, Associate Director of the OU Writing Center, and Stephanie Buettner, Associate Director of OU Prospective Student Services, will lead this program.
Space is limited so registration is required for the workshop. To register in Southwest OKC, call 979-2200 or go online here .
