SOKC commemorates Earth Day with Celebration

 

EarthThe Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library invites the community to an Earth Day Celebration at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 20.

Earth Day has been celebrated worldwide every April since 1970 as a commemoration supporting environmental protection, and the library and its staff are adding their support.

Activities are planned throughout the day at the library, with something for all ages.

 

The schedule of events includes:

·         10-11 a.m. – Family Seed Starting, a workshop on seed starting for a new garden

·         11 a.m.-1 p.m. – Children’s Come and Go Crafts, with recycling projects to make bird feeders from plastic bottles and flower pots from cans.

·         1-3 p.m. – Movie showing, feature is based on the Dr. Seuss book “The Lorax.”

Registration is not required to take part in any of the activities.
