Another sign of the giving heart of Americans in the wake of last week’s tornado will come from a group visiting local library communities this week.
“Stories After the Storm,” a volunteer group from Austin, Texas, will visit the Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1, and later in the day will work with the Moore Public Library during a Movie in the Park event from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Moore’s Buck Thomas Park, 1903 NE 12th St. At about 8:45 p.m., a showing of “A Bug’s Life” will begin.
“Stories After the Storm” is a group of families that have gathered donated books to distribute to families affected by the tornado, who may have lost books along with other belongings. They will be presenting story times and passing out free books to those in attendance at either event Saturday.
Registration is not required to attend either event.
The storm has caused continuing issues with phone service at the library, so the temporary number for the library is 405-205-5854.
