Get an “Introduction to Snakes” at the library

The Tecumseh Public Library is giving an “Introduction to Snakes” at a program at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at the library, 114 N. Broadway. It’s part of the library’s Summer Reading Program series of activities.

Larry Daniel with the Oklahoma City Herpetological Society will bring several live snakes with him for an informative and entertaining show-and-tell with the tweens about the snakes and their habitat.

Talk trash at teen program in Tecumseh

The Tecumseh Public Library welcomes representatives from the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality who will be talking trash, quite literally, at the program “Where is Away?” at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at the library, 114 N. Broadway.

The program is for teens, who will learn about what happens to waste after it’s thrown away, including specifics on recycling, composting, landfills and the best ways to dispose of trash to be safe for the environment.
