The Tecumseh Public Library invites area children to take part in a PLS Little Read program, where they will learn more about Chinese traditions at a program that takes place at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at the library, 114 N. Broadway.
Participants ages 5 to 11 will bake traditional Chinese almond cookies and then enjoy eating them with some tea. The group also will listen to a reading of the book “Lon Po Po,” a Chinese variation of the classic “Little Red Riding Hood.”
The Little Read is an offshoot of the PLS Big Read, a yearly celebration of literature that features programming throughout the library system. This year’s featured novel in the PLS Big Read is Amy Tan’s “The Joy Luck Club.”
Supplies and space for the program are limited, so registration is required to take part.
To sign up, visit the library, call 598-5955 or go online here .
