Business Book Review

Organizing for Your Brain Type

It doesn’t matter how well you walk the path, if it’s not your path.  Katherine Benziger, Ph. D.

After many years of trying to walk the well-manicured, visually perfect path of organization my mom created for herself while dragging me along, I became “organizationally free” once I read Organizing for Your Brain Type.

Once I began to read I couldn’t stop from the excitement of learning that I am not unorganized simply because my piles are not in color coded folders in drawers hidden away or that my desk isn’t totally cleared off.  I already had a system of organization that was somewhat working for me.  I just needed to fine tune it a bit.  The greatest take away from this book was the freedom I gave myself to try different organizational tools to find what makes my life function smoothly.   And even though some tease me for lugging around my trusty, Franklin planner or for accidentally leaving my “brain” in a co-workers car, I know this is the best daily organizational tool for me.

So pick up a copy of this book, take the tests in the front and back, and see your organizational world open up for you.  Or better yet, check out the entire book kit to take back to your place of work, church group or committee to learn more about what makes your cohorts organizationally tick.
