The Game of "IF"
By: Jennifer Edwards, REI Oklahoma’s Women’s Business Center
The following six questions are an exercise to help you learn more about yourself (and others) and your beliefs about your everyday life, career and business:
If I gave you $10,000 for your business, what would you spend it on?
If you could change one thing about your business, what would it be?
If you could do your dream job 10 years from now, what would it be?
If money/time was no object, what would you be doing right now?
If you could learn any skill, what would it be?
If you could wish one thing to come true this year, what would it be?
As you plan for the coming year I encourage you to take some time and write down honest responses these questions. Once you identify your values and priorities it’s easier to set goals to accomplish them. Whether it’s long-term or short-term projects, our businesses will only grow into what we want if we focus and are intentional about our time and efforts. I hope this exercise is enlightening and keeps you going strong in 2014!
