You may have noticed that the newsletter looks a little different this month. This is our brand new format that we hope will make it easier to share all the teen information with you. Hopefully you enjoy it and find it easier to read.
December brings thoughts of icy winds, falling snow, and bundling up for outside activities. Or maybe you think of warm fires, hot chocolate, and a fuzzy blanket. Either way, here are Winter themed books to enjoy this month.
Dec. 25 & 26 All libraries will be closed for Christmas holiday
Dec. 31 All libraries will be close at 6:00 p.m. for New Year holiday
Dec. 15 @ 12 p.m. - Discuss Kristin Cashore's Graceling about an alternate world that must be saved from a corrupt king. Meets at the Blanchard High School Library.
Dec. 15 @ 4 p.m. - Have fun and learn new cooking techniques with easy recipes by Sonya McDaniels of the Pottawatomie County OSU Extension Office. Sign up online.
Dec. 2 @ 6 p.m. - Get in the holiday spirit by decorating ornaments for the tree. All supplies provided. Registration required. Visit the library, call 793-4349 or sign up online.
Dec. 16 @ 6 p.m. - Decoupage plates with any theme, from the holidays to Justin Bieber. All supplies provided, but welcome to bring pictures & magazine cut-outs. Registration required. Visit the library, call 793-4349 or sign up online.
Dec. 1 @ 3:30 p.m. - Don't miss the fun. Meet with your friends for an action filled afternoon of gaming at the library.
Dec. 8 @ 4 p.m. - Join the Teens and Tweens book club for lively conversation and a craft. Snacks are provided by friends of the Newcastle Public Library. Come by the library to check out a copy of the book to be discussed.
Dec. 15 @ 3:45 p.m. - Get into the holiday spirit with a teen holiday craft.
Dec. 8 @ 3:30 p.m. - Bring your friends and play some video games! Consoles include the Xbox 360 and Wii. Various titles including Rockband 2, Madden 2010, and Wii fit.
Dec. 13 @ 3:30 p.m. - Hang out with your friends and catch a movie on us. Popcorn provided.
Dec. 4 @ 5 p.m. - Play Dungeons and Dragons, Yu-Gi-Oh, and other role play or collectable card games. New and experienced players in grades 7 - 12 welcome.

Dec. 3 @ 4 p.m. - Design and decorate a coffee mug as the perfect gift for mom or dad this holiday season! Register at the library, by calling, 405-527-5546, or sign up online.
Dec. 6 & 13 @ 4:30 p.m. - Learn knitting basics and create a great project. Beginning hooks and yarns will be supplied.
Dec. 11 All Day - Enjoy three movies starring Tima Allen about a dad who stumbles across the chance to become Santa Claus and save Christmas.
Dec. 14 @ 4 p.m. - Learn to make bags out of unusual materials such as plastic and duct tape as a special gift for the holidays! Registration required. Visit the library, call 405-598-5955, or sign up online.
