Free Comic Book Day is Saturday, May 5

Come into your hometown library and check out a book from the Teen Collection on Saturday, May 5 and receive a free comic, while supplies last.

Comics are provided by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Toy and Action Figure Museum, Wizards Games, and Bibliotech Books and Comics. The comic book stores will also be giving away comics.

Get ready for the PLS Teen Summer Reading Program. May and early June will include kickoff events at each hometown library to start the Summer.

The Teen Summer Reading theme, "Own The Night," will be seen throughout events at the libraries. You can look forward to art projects, laser games, dancing, glow-in-the-dark things, and paranormal fun all possibly taking place in the dark.

June 7 @ 2 p.m. - Jump start the Summer Reading Program with laser games. "Own the Night" (and the library) with these hightech laser games. Register online or by calling 485-2275. Both the PLS waiver & Mobile Laser Forces waiver must be signed by a parent/gaurdian.

June 1 @ 10 a.m. - Come and join us at Wes Watkins Reservior for our Summer Reading Program Lake Bash. Learn knot tying, fish identification, casting & fishing. Food and fishing poles are provided. Register online or by call 964-2960.

May 31 @ 10 a.m. - Be part of a parade from City Hall to The Moore Public Library to kick off our Summer Reading Program! Enjoy crafts, story telling, snacks, and games.

June 4 @ 2 p.m. - Come learn how you can "Own the Night" with Summer events at the library. sign up and receive a FREE string bag.

June 1 @ 10 a.m. - Attend the Kick-Off to be one of the first to sign up for the Summer Reading Program! Entertaining games and fun crafts based on the teen theme " Own the Night" will start your summer with a blast.

June 1 @ 2 p.m. - Drop in to sign-up for the Summer Reading Program and get a FREE string backpack and get a chance to win amazing prizes. There will be games, free snacks, and fun!

May 30 @ 2 p.m. - "Own the Night" with a movie on the big screen with popcorn and concession candy. The movie will feature the caped crusader as he brings justice to Gotham's crime syndicate. This time he faces the Joker, whose eerie grin belies a dangerous agenda. The movie is rated PG-13.

May 31 @ 10 a.m. - Start the Summer off right. Celebrate the "Own the Night" theme with a glow-in-the-dark party filled with fun activities.
