POSITION:  Support Services Clerk/Driver

BEGINNING SALARY:  Grade 4, Base ($1798/mo)

WORKING CONDITIONS:  Full time position, 40 hrs/wk. Must be available to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends, in addition up to two weeks of “Mandatory New Hire Orientation & Training” located at the Administrative Offices in Norman.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists library customers by providing high level customer service; opens boxes, sorts and delivers materials to various locations; performs other duties as assigned.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS: 
1.    Education and/or experience:
a.    High school diploma or G.E.D;
b.    OR equivalent combination of technical training, experience or education.
c.    Valid OK driver’s license with good driving record verified and reviewed by PLS insurance provider.
d.    Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.

2.    Knowledge, skills and abilities:
a.    Working knowledge of Pioneer Library System policies and procedures;
b.    Ability to safely operate assigned vehicles;
c.    Ability to learn library systems quickly and thoroughly; 
d.    Understands and performs basic functions and tasks of common software programs and email applications.
e.    Uses and helps others use basic computer hardware.
f.     Strong skills in written and spoken business communications;
g.    Ability to perform a variety of detailed tasks;
h.    Ability to work pleasantly with customers and staff;
i.     Develop and use safe work practices;
j.     Work may involve considerable physical exertion and routinely requires individually lifting light and heavy items in strenuous work positions up to 50 lbs. and pushing items up to 100 pounds; 
k.    Retrieve and replace items from floor level to at least 5 ½ feet in height;
l.    Work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends.
