Can a person really look forward to exercise class? The answer seems to be YES when it is a Zumba Fitness class. Far from drudgery, Zumba Fitness is the latest aerobic exercise program sweeping the nation. Toning your entire body to Latin Music, with easy-to-learn movements, has made Zumba a craze for all of those who want to increase their activity level. You can exercise and get fit while enjoying a party-like atmosphere. With two licensed instructors on-board, Zumba class for those aged 16 and older is on the agenda at Moore Public Library 225 South Howard in Moore beginning February 22 at 6:00 p.m., with plans to continue classes every Monday night through April.
The Zumba training sessions feature both fast and slow rhythms, designed to vary the workout. When combined with toning exercises, you burn fat while sculpting the body. With a focus on hypnotic Latin music, participants are carried away, enjoy themselves and share the fun. “With energy levels high, the work of exercise in minimized. It is a very exhilarating experience,” says Brenda Johnson, Information Services Manager and Reference Librarian for Moore Public Library.
Two licensed Zumba instructors will be presenting the Adult Program. They are also full-time librarians for Moore Public Library: Lenore St. John, Children’s Librarian and Outreach Specialist and Jenny Metheny, Children’s Librarian.
No pre-registration is required, but each participant needs to sign a release waiver before attending class. Forms are available at the Information Desk, or can be signed on the first day of class. Any participant under the age of 18, must have a parental signature on the waiver.
Comfortable, loose clothing with good aerobic footwear is recommended. So plan to join the Zumba party and ‘work it out’ right here at the Moore Library. For more information, call 793-4349 or log on to our website at www. justsoyouknow.us.
